Practical information

Badges

Upon registration you will receive a personal badge, coloured white. The badges of passé-partoutes are also coloured white with the company name. Badges only valid for the Pre-conference are coloured orange. Please wear your badge at all times during the conference and social events. Members of the local organizing committee can be recognized by a red badge.


Catering

In order to prevent log queues, there are arranged several catering points where coffee and tea will be served. The bar, located in the exhibiting area, will be staffed continuously and there you can always get free coffee, tea and water during meeting hours. Lunch will be served in the immediate vicinity of the catering points.

 

Dietary requirements

In case you have given us special dietary requirements, you will receive a separate ticket with your requirements at the general registration desk. Please be advised that your special lunch will be served at the catering point located in the exhibition area, on the 1st floor.
Please show your dietary requirements ticket to the catering staff, they will hand you the requested lunch.

 

Vegetarian meals

Please be advised that delegates, who have only requested vegetarian meals, will not receive a dietary requirements ticket. The lunch at the conference and welcome reception will have vegetarian items.

 

Cloakroom

A cloakroom is situated on the first floor, close to the main entrance of the Aula. The cloakroom is free of charge and will be guarded during congress hours. The organisers cannot accept any liability for loss or damage to property.

 

Currency and banking

The currency in the Netherlands is the Euro (€). Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted at the registration desk. In general, all major credit cards are accepted for payment in hotels, restaurants and shops. An ATM machine is located right outside the VU Main Building. Banks in Amsterdam are generally open from 10:00 to 17:00 hrs on weekdays.

Electricity

The voltage in the Netherlands is 220-240 volts.

 

Evaluation form

An evaluation form is included in the conference bag. You are kindly requested to complete this form and to deposit it at the general registration desk. When you have completed your evaluation form you will receive a certificate of attendance.

 

First aid

If any delegate requires first aid, please contact the main reception desk of the VU University located on the ground floor. Their staff is trained to provide first aid and know who to contact if further medical assistance is needed.

Internet facilities
Wireless internet

We are proud to inform you that the VU University will offer wireless internet facilities to conference delegates. Delegates will receive a username and password in their conference bag which will be handed upon arrival at the general registration desk.

 

Internet corner

An internet corner with 8 laptops is located in room 1A-08 on the 1st floor, very close to the Aula and the exhibition area. On Tueday June 15th an ICT assistant will be available for questions from 10:00 – 16:00 hrs, if you need any help please ask at the general registration desk.

 

VU MediaXperience

The VU MediaXperience is located at the 1st floor. In this area there are working spaces reserved for the delegates. You can work here with your own laptop or use the fixed computers. And it is possible to store your belongings in the lockers. This area will also be used for the Lunch Meetings.

Language

The official language of the congress is English. No translation arrangements will be made.

 

Lost property

Enquiries regarding items lost or found can be made at the registration desk or at the main reception desk of the VU University.
 

Messages

Messages for delegates should be handed in at the registration desk on the ground floor. Notification of messages will be displayed on a flipchart on the first floor. Please check the flipchart daily and pick up your messages.


Smoking

In the public areas of the VU University, smoking is prohibited by law. Smoking is only permitted in a few designated areas.

Taxis

Taxis can be ordered at the main reception desk of the VU University located on the ground floor.

Telephones

Near the main reception desk of the VU University you will find public phones that operate on credit cards or telephone cards. Please note that mobile phones must be switched off when delegates are in lecture rooms!
